Plan your transport
Distinguish a pure packaging change from a change of contents. Both can affect the same count but raise different questions. For new units, add external dimensions and weight. Reception needs the corrected allocation, and with the coordinating contact we clarify whether the change affects the vehicle, schedule or quotation.
More packages than planned
If extra units are added, what matters most is whether they still fit into the planned vehicle and whether reception is prepared. Report the addition as early as possible with dimensions and weight. Shortly before collection, less can be replanned than a few days earlier.
Fewer packages than planned
If units drop out, that is usually not critical for transport but important for the check at the destination. Note which IDs are no longer included and why, so that the receiving team does not search for missing crates and the return is planned with the right quantity.
What matters
- Separate packaging changes from content changes
- Add new units with dimensions and weight
- Pass the corrected list to reception
