Plan your transport
Also list separately packed stands, truss sections, connectors and accessory boxes. Castors on a case do not replace stating weight and handling – especially when the route to the stage involves ramps or goods lifts. Check with the person responsible for the equipment whether all cases will be closed and ready at collection or still need to be brought together from several areas.
Truck pack and loading order
In event productions, the build sequence often decides what has to come off the vehicle first: truss and rigging before lighting, lighting before set dressing. If your crew needs a particular loading order, state it with the case groups concerned. We check how this fits with vehicle, packing list and the handover situation at the venue.
Tours and recurring events
Lighting and stage equipment rarely travels just once. For tours, roadshows or event series, a stable case list with fixed numbers that only needs updating before each use is worthwhile. Onward trips from venue to venue and returns to the store can then be requested on the same data basis.
What matters
- Link case numbers to areas of use
- Include stands and truss sections in the count
- State the required loading order by case group
