Plan your transport
Only merge the departments’ part lists after checking the physical units. Identically named cartons from different areas need unique IDs. Clarify internally when all parts will arrive and who follows up missing items. The collection contact then confirms scope, dimensions and weight so that the request is based on the consolidated shipment.
Cut-off at the consolidation point
Set a clear internal cut-off for the consolidation point, well before the collection date. Anything arriving later needs its own solution. With a firm cut-off there is time to check and label the shipment and pass on the final packing list.
Consolidation point or collection run?
An internal consolidation point is worthwhile if departments are close together and your team can handle the bundling. If origins are far apart, a collection run with several stops may make more sense. Describe both options if you are unsure – we will show the differences.
What matters
- Name the consolidation point as actual collection point
- Resolve duplicate IDs within the team
- Set an internal cut-off before collection
