Plan your transport

Link reusable crates, cases or bags to the goods that will travel back in them. Record in the project where the empties are kept during the event and who has access. If the return shipment is made up differently, different units result; so after dismantling confirm the actual external dimensions and quantities instead of reusing the delivery list unchanged.

Where the empties stay during the show

Some stands have room for empty containers, but often there is none. Many exhibition centres offer empty-case storage through their official contractors, booked directly by the exhibitor. Alternatively, empties stay with the stand builder or go back and return for dismantling. Clarify which option applies – it determines when and where the return packaging gets back to the material.

Dismantling under time pressure

Dismantling times are often tight, and several trades clear out at once. If the return packaging is labelled and the return packing list is ready, packing goes faster and mistakes become rarer. Tell us when dismantling starts and when you want collection so that the return trip fits.

What matters

  • Assign return containers to the goods
  • Clarify where empties are kept and who has access
  • Record return packages again after dismantling
